DVS Krishna

DVS Krishna was born in 1973 in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, and graduated in painting from JNTU Hyderabad in 1996. Subsequently, he began participating in group exhibitions organised by institutions such as the Hyderabad Art Society, the 52 Years of Andhra Pradesh Art exhibition at the Minaz Art Gallery in Hyderabad (1997), and the World Telugu Federation’s group exhibition. He also took part in a group show organized by the AIFCS at the Hyderabad Art Society gallery (1997), various exhibitions with Gallerie Splash at the India Art Festival in Delhi and Mumbai, the annual Humming Hues exhibition at Gallery Space, Hyderabad (2005), an exhibition organized by Concern India at HSBC Bank in Hyderabad (2006), shows in Bangalore organized by Gallery Hues (2008) and Bangalore Habba (2009), and an exhibition at the Ahuja Museum for Arts in Kolkata (2010). Notably, DVS Krishna is a figurative artist who has developed his own distinct visual language. He focuses primarily on the female figure and her position in both society and the home. His works offer captivating scenes of women's lives that readily connect with the audience. The artist deserves credit for having refined and perfected his imagery over the years. His fibreglass sculptures possess an introspective quality.
